Responsible stewardship

Service with purpose.

Mohammed Naif Ali is a philanthropist, Wakf administrator, writer, programmer, and technology enthusiast with a keen interest in the intersection of Wakf, community development, institutional governance, technology, and sustainable social development. His work is guided by the belief that Wakf institutions can play a far greater role in community welfare and socio-economic development when their assets are managed professionally, transparently, and in accordance with their intended objectives.

As Mutawalli of the Anowaruddin Wakf Estate, Naif Ali has undertaken a range of initiatives to strengthen the Estate's governance, legal compliance, administration, preservation, and productive utilization of its assets. Under his stewardship, the Estate has strengthened its administrative and legal records, undertaken significant renovation and infrastructure improvements, and achieved a tenfold increase in revenue through more effective management and utilization of its properties. He has also been actively engaged in protecting Wakf assets and addressing longstanding and emerging legal matters concerning Wakf properties.

His engagement with Wakf extends beyond the administration of the Anowaruddin Wakf Estate. He advocates a more progressive and sustainable approach to Wakf management, encouraging Mutawallis and Wakf administrators to identify unutilized and underutilized assets and explore lawful and productive avenues through which these resources can generate sustained social and economic value. Through seminars, awareness programmes, and interactions with fellow Wakf administrators, he promotes good governance, legal and regulatory compliance, asset protection, accountability, and professional management.

As a writer and speaker, Naif Ali regularly contributes to discussions on the socio-economic significance of Wakf and its potential contribution to community development and nation-building. His perspective seeks to bring together the principles and values of Wakf with contemporary approaches to management, technology, accountability, and sustainable development.

Preserving purpose.
Creating opportunity.

A central priority is to support the welfare and empowerment of underprivileged and vulnerable members of society, including orphans, widows, students, and economically disadvantaged individuals. The Estate seeks to provide assistance in ways that uphold dignity while creating opportunities for long-term social and economic empowerment.

Education and youth development form an important part of this mission. Through academic assistance, educational guidance, tuition support, skill development, and livelihood-oriented initiatives, the Estate aims to help young people build knowledge, capabilities, confidence, and greater economic independence.

The Estate also seeks to provide appropriate counselling, guidance, and community support to individuals and families facing social, educational, or personal challenges, while fostering values of compassion, dignity, inclusiveness, mutual respect, and social responsibility.

Community-oriented charitable and welfare initiatives, including programmes undertaken during Ramadan and other significant occasions, remain an integral part of the Estate's social responsibility. At the same time, its religious and cultural institutions are to be preserved and maintained with due respect for their historical and spiritual significance.
